He has extensive experience of working with senior and middle managers, having run an MBA course for over 10 years and through involvement in teaching company schemes, in-company programmes and consultancy.  He has also raised funding for a Business Generator for embryo creative businesses. He is an active researcher, focusing on applied strategy and entrepreneurship, mostly in conjunction with organizations. He is particularly concerned in helping the UK produce more entrepreneurs and more enterprising managers in organizations everywhere.

He is the author of two popular books for managers, Strategy in Action and Lead With Vision: Manage the Strategic Challenge, and has recently published Entrepreneurs: Talent, Temperament, Technique, co-authored with Bill Bolton.
