James R. Persse, PhD is the managing partner of Altair Solutions, Inc. He is an IT professional specializing in Process Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, Software Process Improvement, Industry Best Practices Design, and Cultural and Organizational Change. He has held executive positions in the healthcare, telecom, and technology industries, and serves now as a process consultant for companies adopting CMMI, ITIL, ISO 9001:2000, and CobiT.

He has spent more than 20 years in the technology industry, has a PhD in Management & Process Improvement and has implemented successful CMMI programs across multi-industry disciplines. Carnegie Mellon University / Software Engineering Institute (CMU SEI) Authorized Lead Appraiser and CMMI Instructor, as well as a SEI Partner

He has worked with a diverse client base that includes T-Mobile USA, Athena Technologies, the U.S. Department of Defense, Celerity Technical Services, Pitney Bowes International, MCI, BellSouth Science and Technologies, and Palmetto GBA.

James is the author of Process Improvement Essentials: CMMI, ISO 9001, Six Sigma (2006); Implementing the Capability Maturity Model (2001); and Bit x Bit: Topics in Technology Management (2000).
