Jeff Crume

Jeff Crume, CISSP, is an IT Security Architect for IBM and its Tivoli Systems subsidary, with 18 years' experience in the field of systems management and security. He began his career as a programmer and software designer developing large-scale, enterprise-wide systems and network management tools. His work in this area led to the awarding of a US Patent dealing with loop detection and recovery.

Later, his focus shifted to area of IT security and its impact upon Internet technologies. He has consulted with companies around the world as they developed some of the first secure e-commerce payment systems. More recently he has helped both government and commercial organisations design secure e-business infrastructures to support web portals and other customer service initiatives. In addition to writing Inside Internet Security — What Hackers Don't Want You To Know, he has authored articles on cryptography and virtual private networking and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences around the world.
