Merrill R. (Rick) Chapman has worked in the high technology and software industries since 1978 as a programmer, salesman, field sales engineer and marketer. He is the author of The Product Marketing Handbook for Software, co-author of The US Software and Distribution Guide, published by the Software Industry and Information Association and enjoys writing, lecturing, and consulting about various aspects of high-technology marketing. The companies he has worked or consulted for include  Ashton-Tate, IBM, Inso, MicroPro, Microsoft, Novell, DataEase, Stromberg, Sun, Ziff Davis and many others. He currently resides in Killingworth, CT with his wife Ruth, daughter Lili, and standard schnauzer Charlie, who was misrepresented at time of purchase as a miniature version of the breed. Based on his experiences, Mr. Chapman now recommends the standard schnauzer for purchase to anyone seeking to own a great dog.
