Peter Cheverton

Peter Cheverton is a Director of INSIGHT Marketing and People Ltd. A graduate in History from Cambridge University, he joined ICI Paints in 1981.

Peter followed a commercial career path, working in Sales, Key Account Management, and Marketing. His last two roles in ICI were as Business Manager for ICI Paints Benelux, and Training & Development Manager for ICI Paints. After taking a year's sabbatical to travel the globe, he joined INSIGHT in 1992.

He advocates the practical application of training, using his own business experience to help facilitate this. His focus is on helping clients to 'make it happen'.

Peter's special training interests are in Key Account Management, selling and marketing to the retail industry, particularly Category Management, purchasing skills and Supply Side Management, also Creative Thinking and Strategic Influencing Skills. Peter has also written several books including Key Marketing Skills — a complete action kit of strategies, tools and techniques for marketing success and Key Account Management — a complete action kit of tools and techniques for achieving profitable key supplier status, now in its 2nd edition.

He works regularly in the USA and South Africa, in particular helping clients with global account management issues.

Peter is married and lives in Epsom Surrey. He is interested in travel, architecture, and archaeology.
